Halloween is here again and we had great fun in The Junkyard. Here are three of the sets built by Rosalee for DJ Siani, DJ Mij and DJ Spooky. Great fun was had by all.
I am the ghost flittering around…
One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.
”Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs $10.”
Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: “You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks.”
Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction.
He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:
“Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren’t yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don’t stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better.”

Excellent stuff well done Seren
Well I didn’t achieve that much in 2014 feel it was a bit of a nothing year. Loved my time with Storm in Second Life. Bought a new computer system , a tablet and a smart phone so technology is up to date. Feel I’m getting a bit stale as to hosting , need to up my game. Sigh. However I did stop smoking (YAY) and joined the gym. New years resolution? Be more energetic. Have a cold at the moment and feel awful.
Hope you all have a super New Year 🙂
New WordPress is good. 4.1 .
I was reminded of Hyperland : Hyperland is a 50-minute long documentary film about hypertext and surrounding technologies. It was written by Douglas Adams and produced and directed by Max Whitby for BBC Two in 1990. You can find it on YouTube and Vimeo. 1990 before the web please note. Some great interviews and history of The Internet. great to hear Ted Nelson the inventor of hypertext in the 1960s. One important element was the prediction of Micons or moving icons I like movie icons too . Didn’t happen. Not sure why but I like them. Leave a comment after visiting Micons.org and watching the movie, there is a relevant clip of the movie on the micons site, if you so wish.
Hello Storm nice dancing Merry Christmas MWAH!””
I use the Firestorm viewer for Second Life and it is very good. I have been using it for over a year and just upgraded to the latest release. Yesterday had what I thought was a disaster. I couldn’t see mesh the 3D modelling of objects. There were just gaps where clothes would be. I thought my graphics card had broken, and it had. I had just updated the drivers. However I didn’t know this and I asked friends what to do. They took me through various settings nothing worked. Then it was suggested I ask the FS Support group in chat. I joined the group and typed my problem into chat. Almost immediately the answer came that I had to roll back my drivers to an earlier release. It was the new AMD drivers that were doing it. So I did a system restore. Everything went back to 4th December. And everything worked.
So my Firestorm does not support certain builds of AMD drivers. I went back to release 13, 14 seems to have problems in its various forms. Finding this out took a matter of seconds. What a great resource to have that Chat. Excellent stuff. I watched it yesterday and picked up some tips. It seems no problem is too small to help, from fiddling with a graphics setting to a complete install. Well done Firestorm. They also have a wiki and JIRA and forums. http://firestormviewer.org
Gargoyles are said to frighten off harmful spirits and protect the buildings they guard. They nicely embodied the concept of evil, and those approaching the University’s gothic splendour at night are advised to use caution. If you think that a Gargoyle is simply made of stone, you are terribly mistaken.
Penny, the super intelligent, well-educated Siamese cat moves into Professor Eagle’s office and sinks her claws into the soft, exquisite calfskin binding of his books. The Gargoyles have her firmly fixed in their sights.
There are terrifying times to come in the University Museum and a wicked plot to prevent Professor Poppett and Poodle from winning the Dog Show. If you thought it was safe to go to University, you might need to think again.
